Financial Reports

Disclaimer on the budget versus actual information contained in the monthly Treasurer's Reports:

The Village's annual budget is created and adopted before the start of each fiscal year. As hard as the Village tries, there are times when actual activity comes in significantly different than what was anticipated. The Village budgets revenues conservatively so that what is planned to be spent is not more than what is collected. Therefore, seeing revenues run higher than budget typically means the economy is doing better than expected or that activity in the Village is higher than planned. On the expenditure side, the Village tries to budget for what will actually be spent - the Village does not pad or add extra money to its budget in order to look good at the end of the year. Each department is charged with managing their respective budgets and if there is ever a need to spend more than what is budgeted, it must be approved by the Village Board.
