Training Saves Lives

The Bradley Fire Department is dedicated to quality training for its personnel. The phrase “training saves lives” is the statement behind everything we do. We train to master the skills that could potentially save others.

From day one of fire academy, personnel are drilled on the importance of training and that learning doesn't stop after the academy. At the BFD, firefighters are required to attend training sessions that are held every Tuesday night. These trainings consist of everything to include basic fire suppression, live fire burns, auto extrication, and EMS.

We train with many area fire departments. This helps firefighters learn new techniques, and learn different equipment that they might have to operate on a fire ground. In the past three years the Bradley Fire Department has averaged 5,753 hours of training with 1,738 in attendance.
